Five-degree slanted characters (Part 2)

Chi Zhoumu played three games of League of Legends in a row. Whenever he encountered a problem he couldn't figure out, he had to shift his focus to prevent himself from being trapped by his chaotic thoughts. After the three games, Chi Zhoumu stared at the computer for a long time, lost in thought. "No, I have to go out for a walk and relax," Chi Zhoumu thought to himself.

When Chi Zhoumu went out, it was already past eight o'clock in the evening. The streetlights emitted a quiet, dim yellow light, and only a few people were running on the playground. The moonlight was faint, casting overlapping shadows, and the road was deserted. He went to the pavilion, sat down on a bench, and lazily admired the reflection of the library lights on the lake. Two or three couples were scattered on the small island in the lake. "It's hard to find such peace and harmony in the bustling city," he thought.

After sitting for about twenty minutes, just as he was about to go back, he suddenly heard shouts from not far away. Chi Zhoumu looked in the direction of the shouts and saw that it was boys yelling wildly under the girls' dormitory. "I don't even need to think to know which lonely guy is confessing his love again," Chi Zhoumu sneered. Sure enough, as soon as he got closer, he could clearly hear heartfelt shouts of "Wang Xiaomei, I love you! Wang Xiaomei, I love you!..."

"Sigh, looks like another lovesick fool!" Chi Zhoumu sighed. "Wait, um, what, I love you... I love you! That's right, it's I love you!" Chi Zhoumu couldn't contain his joy, shouting repeatedly as if he had discovered a new continent.

"My mission is complete!" Chi Zhoumu replied to Xia Yan with a text message, then immediately ran back to his dormitory.

"Comrades, I know the secret on the card!" Chi Zhoumu shouted to the three of them as he closed the door.

"Hey, so what if you know? Seriously, what's the big deal?" Qian Xing, one hand on the keyboard, the other gripping the mouse, was completely focused on his hero. "Quick, heal! Heal! Xu Yu!" The three were so engrossed in their game that they had no idea what Chi Zhoumu was talking about.

"Looks like we'll just have to wait until this game is over," Chi Zhoumu said, sounding a little helpless.

About half an hour later, the three took off their headphones. Qi Kai asked, "Chi Zhoumu, what secret did you say you knew? Share it with us!"

"Nothing, nothing," Chi Zhoumu pretended to be nonchalant. "Wait, you mentioned cards, didn't you?" Qian Xing said definitively, he was quite sensitive to the word "cards.

" "No, no, you misheard," Chi Zhoumu said, just trying to get them to hurry. "Um, Brother Mu, we're sorry, we're sorry, please tell us!" Qian Xing was getting impatient.

  “Okay, give me the card.”

Qian Xing immediately handed it over. “What secret is it? Tell me.”

“Does anyone have a chemistry textbook?” Chi Zhoumu asked.

“No, who has a chemistry textbook? Really!” Xu Yu said sheepishly.

“Okay, never mind if you don’t have one. Then use the photo on my phone.” Chi Zhoumu said, opening his phone. “Actually, ‘chemistry’ is a hint that the secret on this card is hidden in the periodic table.” Chi Zhoumu pointed to the last word on the card. “Actually, the translation of each of these three lines is different. You see, the first line is ‘shi dian’. The Chinese for ‘shi dian’ is not the ten o’clock we understand, but the two characters ‘shi’ and ‘dian’.” “

‘Shi’ and ‘dian’? Are these two characters related?” Xu Yu asked, looking at Chi Zhoumu.

“If you put them together, you’ll get it.” Chi Zhoumu said, “They together are the character for ‘iodine’…” Chi Zhoumu was only halfway through his explanation when someone knocked on the door.

“Open the door.” A deep voice called from outside.

"Wait a minute, we're busy right now. Open the door later if you need anything," Qian Xing shouted outside.

"It sounds like the counselor," Xu Yu said weakly.

"Ah..." Qian Xing quickly rushed over and opened the door.

"What are you busy with?" the counselor asked impatiently.

"Nothing, nothing," Qian Xing immediately explained.

"Well, nothing much, I just came to check on things and do a room check. Look at how messy your beds are, and how dirty the floor is. As university students, you should take care of your living arrangements. Otherwise, what will you do when you enter society? Right? And..." The counselor launched into a lecture without taking a breath.

"Yeah, yeah, we know, we know, we understand..." the four quickly echoed.

"Hey, what's this? What's written on it?" the counselor asked, pointing to the card in Chi Zhoumu's hand.

"Oh, nothing, just some scratch paper," Chi Zhoumu said casually.

"Oh, I'm fine then. You guys go ahead with your work. By the way, you guys should play less computer games. Don't just play games all day. Look at you, your computers are still on." The counselor pointed to the computers on their desks.

  "We know, we know..."

"I'm fine then. You guys go do what you need to do." The counselor repeated.

As soon as the counselor stepped out of the dormitory, Qian Xing immediately closed the door. "Ugh, this counselor is so long-winded, always nagging." Qian Xing complained.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, let's continue with the topic we were talking about." Qi Kai replied.

"Where were we?" Chi Zhoumu asked.

"We got to the point where 'stone' and 'dian' together make iodine." Xu Yu reacted.

"Oh, iodine is I in the periodic table, right?" Chi Zhoumu showed them a picture of the periodic table on his phone.

"Hmm, what about the second row? What do the numbers mean?" Qian Xing asked.

“Look, the second line is ‘3—8—23—4’. 8 corresponds to oxygen in the periodic table, and 23 corresponds to vanadium, with the corresponding letters being O and V. A stroke is added to the left of 3, so 3 corresponds to lithium (Li). A stroke is added to the right of 4, so 4 corresponds to beryllium (Be). If you take the left and right sides of these two separately, they are L and E. Put them together…”

“So it’s L—O—V—E,” Qi Kai hurriedly said.

“Yes, that’s right,” Chi Zhoumu replied.

“What about the bottom line? There are both numbers and letters?” Qian Xing asked.

“The last line is 89—16—shi li. Here it’s different again; it changes the correspondence. Here, 89 and 16 refer to relative molecular mass. Yttrium’s relative molecular mass is 89, which is Y, while 16 is O.”

“What about shi li? There’s no corresponding element at all!” Xu Yu interrupted Chi Zhoumu.

“Yes, that’s right, but what if shi li means ‘example’?” Chi Zhoumu countered.

“Example, what’s an example?” Qian Xing asked.

“An example is an example element, and the example element on the periodic table is U,” Chi Zhoumu added.

“So, putting it all together means I—LOVE—YOU!?” Qi Kai exclaimed.

“Yes, that’s right, it means I love you.” Chi Zhoumu breathed a sigh of relief.

“Ah, that works too, that’s amazing!” Xu Yu and Qian Xing exclaimed together.

“But who wrote this?” Xu Yu continued to ask.

“Well, look closely at these three lines, do you notice anything?” Chi Zhoumu asked mysteriously.

“No, it’s just ordinary,” Xu Yu replied, looking at the card.

“The handwriting doesn’t seem very neat, it’s a bit skewed upwards,” Qi Kai said weakly, unsure if his judgment was correct.

“Yes, that’s right, it’s skewed about 5 degrees to the upper right, just like when you open the two feet on a keyboard, it skews upwards by about 5 degrees,” Chi Zhoumu said, pointing to the three lines of text. “We do tend to write less neatly and more skewed on white paper, but if we write on paper with horizontal lines like this, probably very few people would write skewed.” Chi Zhoumu finished speaking and pointed to the horizontal lines on the card.

“That’s true, but who wrote this?” Xu Yu asked impatiently.

“Well, you’ll know if you look at this notebook.” After saying that, Chi Zhoumu took out a notebook and handed it to Xu Yu.

“Although the notes aren’t exactly the same, they are indeed skewed upwards, and the angles are about the same,” Xu Yu said after comparing them. “But the writing in this notebook is blue, isn’t it?” Xu Yu asked.

“If the writing on the card was also in blue, would you have taken so long to figure out who wrote it? She deliberately borrowed someone else's pen,” Chi Zhoumu said with a smile.

“Sun Qinqin, it’s Sun Qinqin!” Qi Kai exclaimed, flipping to the first page of his notebook.

“Actually, I’ve always had a question I wanted to ask,” Qian Xing said, looking at Chi Zhoumu with some confusion.

“Do you want to know why Sun Qinqin didn’t just write ‘I love you’ directly, but instead resorted to these ridiculous tricks?” Chi Zhoumu seemed to have anticipated Qian Xing’s question.

  “Yes, that’s right.”

“That’s where her brilliance lies. Think about it, if she just wrote a card and handed it to you with ‘I love you’ written on it, would you reject it outright, accept it, or tear it into pieces and throw it in her face, yelling, ‘Are you crazy?!’ Besides, how many girls in our school would confess to a boy? If someone saw that card had ‘I love you’ written on it, and it was written by a girl to a boy, would she even be able to live with herself? The reason she did all this is to keep everyone from knowing, understand? Even using a black pen.” After Chi Zhoumu finished speaking, he deliberately asked curiously after a couple of seconds, “Hey, Qian Xing, where did you get this card?”

“Um, I didn’t hear anything just now.” Xu Yu quickly returned to his desk.

“Um, what happened just now? I don’t remember anything. My memory has been erased.” Qi Kai quickly cooperated.

“I have one last question. Are you 100% sure? Do you have any other evidence, Chi Zhoumu?” Qian Xing was still a little worried.

“Oh, I heard that Sun Qinqin recently got a tutoring job.” Chi Zhoumu replied.

  "Tutoring? Does that matter?"

"Well, I'm tutoring a first-year high school student; she teaches chemistry." Chi Zhoumu finished speaking and returned to his chair.

  ...

  A few days later

, "Can you do me a favor?" Chi Zhoumu said to Xia Yan.

"Sure, no problem, what is it?" Xia Yan readily agreed.

"Um, could you give this to Sun Qinqin for me? I'm handing it to a classmate." Chi Zhoumu said with a smile.

"Okay." Xia Yan took the red card Chi Zhoumu handed her.

"Thank you."

"If you say thank you again, I really won't help you next time."

"Haha... By the way, you deliberately gave me Sun Qinqin's notebook that day, right? The purpose was to give me a hint." Chi Zhoumu asked Xia Yan with a hint of certainty.

Xia Yan smiled and said, "Looks like nothing can be hidden from you, you great detective!"

A line of words on the card was particularly eye-catching in the sunlight:

  '25-2' '22-8-8'
