Perhaps I'm a bit naive, or too unassuming, lacking drive.
I've never liked extravagant desires, nor am I accustomed to greed. I always adhere to the principle of "of all the waters in the world, I only take a sip."
Even if I could plunge into the ocean, I believe I wouldn't be tempted. I always think, what's the point of having so much in life?
The more you have, the more burdensome it becomes. Many people don't understand, or aren't used to, thinking this way, and are blinded by greed.
What I'm used to is simplifying life, avoiding the heavy and the light, not letting myself live in exhaustion.
What's the point of so much fame? What's the point of so much profit? Chasing the superfluous will only make you tired. Is it worth it?
Life has many wonderful things; isn't it enough to obtain what you can easily obtain, what rightfully belongs to you?
A drop of water is also a world—small, but simple, without chaos and noise, and without burden—isn't that good?
Just a drop of water can reduce many mental and physical struggles, keep you away from people's envy, push away others' attention, and allow you to understand the ease of life.
Why must we strive for something spectacular? Why strive to be a towering tree in a forest, a heap over the bank, or a person of lofty character? It's unnecessary.
It's not worth getting bogged down and troubled by worldly concerns.
Simplicity is best.
With just a drop of water, be an ordinary person, live a simple life, maintain a tranquil mind, and approach life with ease and freedom—isn't that delightful?
